Years ago my mom made these for a party in our backyard. They were a hit with the party, and I swear my mom made them before anyone ever did. Isn’t it crazy that ten years later, they are showing up everywhere!
There are so many ways you could make these unique AND affordable:
- use beans, rice, pebbles, or sand in the bottoms
- use led votives to be fire safe
- modge podge tissue paper to the outsides to create color
- cluster them on tables
- hang them in trees (what I am doing for a wedding next month)
- different kinds of ribbon, wire, or chain to hang them
- tinting the glass (tutorial here)
- purchase mason jars on sale or to add more of a vintage feel (which I love) – thrift your jars!
