On Tuesdays here at riss floral design, we will be sharing with you what events we are currently working on– kind of to give you a VIP pass into all process of planning and creating.
This week we have a wedding that is happening on September 1. It is a backyard wedding at the Bride and Groom’s beautiful home in a canyon that overlooks Bountiful. The Bride really wanted to do a lot of the décor on her own, so when we did the initial consultation, we collaborated on ideas to get the space organized and functional for her special night.
She has asked us to design the wedding party’s flowers and we couldn’t be more pleased. This week I am in the process of finalizing the flower type and colors so that I can order them from the wholesaler.
Here is the photo that she initially sent me…
Red, orange and a dark yellow are the colors she would like to have. We will be working with mini mango callas, royal circus roses, red hypericum, and probably some classic red roses – she doesn’t like single colored roses, so we are working with some bi-colored ones.

I found such great ribbon that is olive green and purple with a shimmer of gold in it. I just can’t decide on olive green or purple to accent a cream wrapped base… so I bought both and will decide when I can “try them on.” The olive green will be wonderful, but I have that feeling that the dark purple will complete the designs by giving it a bit more formality, depth, and uniqueness that she is looking for. What I am worried about with the purple is that it will take it too formal which isn’t what our bride is looking for.
You can check out our inspiration board for her wedding here on Pinterest.
We wish E and her fiancé all the best in the next couple of weeks and we can’t wait to see our flowers complete your night!
